It is in the nature of spinal surgery to be risky and sometimes problems can occur despite every effort being taken to mitigate the risks. I strive to ensure that safety is not compromised while treatment is on-going.
As required by law, I undergo an Annual Appraisal of my practice and have been re validated by the General Medical Council in 2016 (to be repeated every 5 years).
I submit data to the British Spine Registry, which is used to assess my outcomes and make changes to practice in order to improve care and safety for patients. I keep up to date with recent advances by attending conferences, reading journals and have attended the following meetings-
